The way it plays...
I sit back and I wonder which direction Arenanet is trying to take Guild Wars in. I remember when I first returned from a break I took from this game and was offered to buy a "Green", I thought it was some kind of scamm : )
I miss the way this game used to be when it was just Prophecies. There was a level of difficulty to the latter area's of the game but nothing compared to what Nightfall and Factions are. Certainly not DoA level. However there was a major difference that made the game much more fun. The fact that you could get a balanced group of buddies and go out there and pwn some monsters. You could take a balanced group into FoW and UW and just enjoy yourself, get some shards/ecto's, and maybe some cool drops. However it doesn't really feel that way in the rest of the game. In the factions elite missions you need to use a specific build, B/ps, nukers, 2 monks, a BiP, etc etc, however even with urgoz there was some mediation to be done to the build. You can drop a nuker, take a necro, etc etc. Not to the degree you could do with the god's realms but still a little.
I dont get why Arenanet doesn't want to continue with the style that UW/FoW/ and SF are made. I can understand upping the difficulty to keep up with the un-balanced skills but I really enjoy those zones. Even though, just like every one else, I've played through them all a million times.
Any thoughts? Comments? Oh the flaming begins?

I don't really know what there is to flame, I can't really understand the point of your post. Something about how the game was better in Prophecies but it was easier? Just seems like some ill-thought out reminiscing to me. Kind of a pointless thread, really. Oh hey I just figured it out.

Read the name of the thread. Im talking about the difference in the way plays now. Atleast how they have been designing the zones and monsters.

Those zones still exist, you can play them all you want. Now for those of us who actually want a challenge, we have what we want.
